CurioXR is committed to protecting the privacy of its visitors and clients (“you”).

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to services provided by CurioXR (“we”, “us”, or “Company”) and our website, product pages, mobile or web applications, or other digital products that link to or reference this Policy (collectively, the “Services”) and explains what information we collect from users of our Services (a “user”, “you”, or “your”), including information that may be used to personally identify you (“Personal Information”) and how we use it. We encourage you to read the details below. This Policy applies to any visitor to or user of our Services.

We may collect different types of information from you depending on how you use our Services, including Personal Information. When we say “Personal Information,” we mean identifiable information about you, like your name, email, support queries, community comments, information about yourself that you share via the Services, and so on. Who are “we”?

When we refer to “we” (or “our” or “us”) that means CurioXR, a Florida company.

What Information Do We Collect?

• Identifiers: We may collect your first and last name, email address, username, IP address, country, time zone, or display name.
• Commercial information: We may collect your sales and subscription history for the Services.
• Voice data: We may receive your voice data through your microphone. We may store this information for you to access at a later date. This will only be accessible to users that you allow access to. For moderation purposes, some of this voice data may be recorded and sent to a third-party service for additional processing. Any such recordings are anonymized and retained for 30 days. Voice data in private instances are never processed, stored, or sent to third parties, except with your permission.
• Sensory data: We may receive your voice through your microphone and animation data derived from your head movement. Any such sensory data is anonymized.
• Recorded sessions: We may record your session, which includes a video feed of your virtual reality avatar and first name, voice data, and other audio of the session. We will inform you prior to recording any session and you will have the opportunity to opt out of the recording. If you do not opt out, you will be deemed to have granted us permission to record the session. We may use information obtained from recorded sessions for our internal training and academic research purposes.
• Internet or other similar network activity: [1] We may collect your activity history, through cache, cookies, and REST API calls. [2] We may collect usage data and history, including, but not limited to, search terms entered, pages viewed, and other usage behavior identified by analytics events.
• Other categories: [1] We may collect information from the content that you create and share publicly in the Services. [2] We may collect your responses to surveys that we may ask you to complete for research purposes or to help direct Company activities.[3] We may collect any information you provide when communicating with us or that you otherwise voluntarily provide to us.

How we collect your data

When you visit or use our Services, we collect Personal Information. The ways we collect it can be broadly categorized into the following:

Information you provide to us directly: When you visit or use some parts of our Services we might ask you to provide Personal Information to us. For example, we ask for your contact information when you sign up to use our Services, request to be added to our waitlist, participate in community forums, contact us with questions, or request support. If you don’t want to provide us with Personal Information, you don’t have to, but it might mean you can’t use some parts of our Services. When you have granted permission to use and record your session. When you choose to use your device’s microphone for voice chat. In some public room instances voice chat may be processed on the device, and in some cases recorded and transmitted to a third-party service for moderation purposes. Any such recordings are anonymized and stored for 30 days.

Information we collect automatically: We collect some information about you automatically that your browser sends whenever you visit or use our Services. This information may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, mobile carrier, geolocation information, the pages of our Services that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, what links you clicked on and other statistics. This information is useful for us as it helps us get a better understanding of how you’re using our Services so that we can continue to provide the best experience possible for our users.

Some of this information is collected using cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and similar tracking technologies via third-party services such as Google Analytics and Facebook Analytics that collect, monitor, and analyze this information. Information we get from third parties: The majority of information we collect, we collect directly from you. For business customers, we might collect Personal Information about you from other sources, such as publicly available materials or trusted third parties like our marketing and research collaborators. We will use this information to supplement the Personal Information we already hold about you to better inform, personalize and improve our Services, and validate the Personal Information you provide. We may receive your Personal Information from:

• Virtual reality app store platforms such as the Oculus Store and the Oculus device;
• Cloud computing providers;
• Payment platform providers; and
• Data analytics providers.

Where we collect Personal Information, we’ll only process it:

• To provide the Services or to perform any other contract or subscription service for or with you;
• Where we have legitimate interests to process the Personal Information and they’re not overridden by your rights;
• In accordance with a legal obligation; or
• Where we have your consent.

If we don’t collect your Personal Information, we may be unable to provide you with all our Services, and some functions and features of our Services may not be available to you.

How we use your data

First and foremost, we use your Personal Information to operate and provide you with our Services and to manage our relationship with you. We also use your Personal Information for other purposes, which may include:

Where your Personal Information is transferred outside the EEA, it will only be transferred to countries that have been identified as providing adequate protection for EEA data, or to a third party where we have approved transfer mechanisms in place to protect your personal data.

• know what personal data we hold about you, and to make sure it’s correct and up to date;
• request a copy of your personal data, or ask us to restrict processing of your personal data or delete it; and
• object to our continued processing of your personal data.

We will review and investigate your complaint and do our best to get back to you in a reasonable time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. You are not permitted to use the Services if you do not meet the minimum age requirement applicable to our Services in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, you may alert us at info@curioxr.com. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information of a child under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in certain jurisdictions), we will take steps to delete such information from our records as soon as possible and terminate the child’s account until we receive verifiable parental consent.
